United States: After the shooting of former President Donald J. Trump in Pennsylvania, several of the democratic leaders talked about the prevalence of widespread violence in the US and the need for the restoration of civil society and also called for the fight against inadmissible manifestations of extreme forms of violence in US politics.
However, the missing thing is an attempt by elected leaders to demand such measures to be put in place regarding firearms.
When James Brady, a presidential aide, was shot during an attempt on the life of President Ronald Reagan in 1981, the moment started the National Movement Against Gun Violence in the US.

According to President Biden, “We cannot — must not — go down this road in America,” while addressing in an Oval Office on Sunday, focussing majorly on the intractable issue of guns, and added, “Violence has never been the answer.”
The incessant mass shooting episodes are always followed by demands for even tougher gun safety laws from the Democratic Party members, but this time around, they were nowhere to be found. Therefore, the gun safety activists also responded by saying that their reaction was not enough.
According to T. Christian Heyne, the vice president for policy at the Brady: United Against Gun Violence organization, “It’s deeply concerning that our leaders aren’t responding to this horrific act of political violence with urgent calls for prevention,” as the New York Times reported.
He also added, “This assassination attempt was enabled by easy access to a military-style rifle, used precisely as it was designed. Today’s muted response reflects a dangerous normalization of political violence and gun threats.”
More about the Trump’s assasination bid
An AR-15, the most common rifle in America and the most popular rifle among mass murderers was recovered by police at the place of the assassination attempt of Mr. Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
There was limited information on the gunman, making it somewhat unclear which gun-related safety concerns were applicable.
Nevertheless, the absence of such specifics has not often paused members of Congress from reacting to gun killings by demanding enhancement of gun control regulations.
As per the speculations, when the nation is hurting and elected leaders are attempting to find out what people of different states share in common, asking for support for policies that the large majority of Republicans in Congress are actively against can be construed as polarizing and self-defeating.
Call for stricter gun safety policies
Some of the major advocates of stricter gun safety policies were not afraid to address the matter after the attempt on Mr. Trump’s life.
According to Senator Chris Murphy, Democrat of Connecticut and the lead voice on gun safety issues in Congress, “Our nation simply does not have to hand assassins and mass murders the weapons that make the slaughter possible,” as the New York Times reported.
“You don’t have a plan to end mass shootings or political violence if your platform seeks to make it easier for killers to get high-powered military weapons,” he added,
