United States: President Biden resumes the campaign trail this week and makes a transition to phase two of his political career in the last months of his presidency focused on making sure Vice President Kamala Harris is ready to step in.

Biden and Harris will make the last push to the election starting with Labor Day, as they seek to court the blue-collar workers with a rally at a union hall in Pittsburgh – a move that symbolizes Biden’s strength in the city that he frequently sought whenever he needed uplift in his political career. 

Biden’s campaign travel also comes as he is reacting to the latest events in the Middle East after Israel’s armed forces freed the bodies of six hostages it claims were killed by Hamas in Gaza, as CNN reported.

This included Israeli American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, whose parents Biden and Harris each spoke to on Sunday. 

A well-thought-out return to campaigning 

The well-thought-out return to the campaign trail is at a time when the president is transitioning from being a candidate to being a surrogate after dropping his re-election bid. 

Given the recent two-week trip to California and Delaware, Biden said he is eager for the campaign trail. Sources said that his aides have debated over the last few weeks what his agenda for the fall will be on the campaign trail as he aims to cement his presidential legacy. 

The president is coming out with the first five-day mini swing through Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, states that he won by a very slim margin against former President Donald Trump in the November elections. 

It is to feature both campaign and official activities to sell popularizing agendum, providing how he will be utilized in the forthcoming months. 

Moreover, as CNN reported, his reentry is also seen to be at a time when Harris was constraining with her public interactions as she tried to prepare for the September 10 presidential debate. 

He is campaigning for her in the important swing states this week.
