United States: President Donald Trump made more announcements early Tuesday morning, sharing his plans of firing more than a thousand presidential appointees “who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again.”

More about the news

On his second day, he started his removals by ousting Mark Milley from his role on the National Infrastructure Advisory Council and removing José Andrés from his position on the President’s Council on Sports.

Following his inauguration, he also fired Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council seat and Brian Hook, who served as special envoy for Iran in the previous Trump administration from 2018 to 2020, from the Wilson Center for Scholars.

Trump posted on his social media handle Truth Social, “Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these four individuals, with many more, coming soon,” “YOU’RE FIRED!”

The celebrity chef Andrés has feuded with Trump since canceling his business deal to open a restaurant in Trump’s former D.C. hotel.

Andrés posted on X that he submitted his resignation last week because his two-year term ended.

He asked that “God give you (Trump) the wisdom … to put politics and name-calling aside,” politico.com reported.

“I hope @realdonaldtrump exercises his presidential authority so the Council can continue to advocate for fitness and good health for all Americans,” Andrés posted.

“These are bipartisan issues…nonpartisan issues,” he continued.

Trump’s commitment to change

Trump follows his promise to remove federal employees he deems disloyal by taking strong action to replace them.

As his first official act on Monday, he activated an executive order from 2020 that weakened federal worker protections.

The Trump team created a pre-election list of staff who they would fire after leaving over the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

Additionally, he chose billionaire investor Elon Musk to lead his plan for government efficiency through a newly formed department.

Musk has now adjusted his goal to USD 1 trillion after changing a previous target of USD 2 trillion in budget cuts. Trump has made many changes to council memberships and posts official announcements on his social accounts, politico.com reported.

During his first day as President Biden, Trump’s appointees were removed from all advisory committees.
