United States: Tropical Storm Sara is brimming in the Caribbean shortly and will bring “life-threatening” impacts to some parts of Central America while starting a move that could again put a tropical menace into the Gulf of Mexico.
Meteorologists from the National Hurricane Center have asked people living on the eastern parts of the Gulf Coast, including Florida, to keep visiting the website because the storm may be headed towards the US next week.
More about the News
Another example of an Atlantic hurricane season that has got out of the script is soon to be Sara.
November is not supposed to see much tropical action, but, behold, this will be the third named storm in November due to exceptionally warm water wrought in the oceans.
At the moment, there is Tropical Depression Nineteen with 35 mph maximum sustained winds and lies 65 miles southeast of the border of Honduras and Nicaragua in the Caribbean Sea, NHC.
The storm will intensify as it moves and slow down almost over the west Caribbean Sea – the same sea that produced Hurricane Rafael – and will be a tropical storm when it reaches the northern coast of Honduras over the weekend, CNN reported.
Life-threatening” flooding expected
Conditions will be life-threatening” rainfall in Honduras, said NHC, for up to 30 inches of flood and double-digit for the rest of Central America, the NHS warned.
This could have implications as “widespread areas of life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides.”
There are still many questions surrounding the potential impacts in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, including Florida and the Florida Keys through Cub.
Just like many places along the Gulf Coast, residents of these states should keep an eye on the forecast because, beyond this weekend, the cone of uncertainty is huge.
Threat on the US
Now, there are a few possible outcomes on the moves regarding how devastating the storm could be and whether it would reach the US the next week.
And they all rely on how far Sara will be from the coast of Honduras in the next several days.
The predictions from the hurricane center show that the system developed while wandering across the coast of Honduras over the weekend. However, it could also have a different picture.
