United States: A chilling video has emerged in which Thomas Matthew Crooks strolls through Butler, Pennsylvania, over two hours before he shot at Trump and others at a campaign rally.

More about the news

The short clip, posted on the site of the American clothing company Iron Clad USA, captures Crooks at 4.26 p.m., where Crooks can be dressed in shorts and a red “Demolition” T-shirt, followed by walking past rows of stalls selling Trump merchandise before the July 13 rally.

He was wearing the same T-shirt when he opened fire on Trump, and he is not holding anything in the rather ominous clip, as Fox News reported.

The company’s owner mentioned while posting a TikTok version of the video was a “Terrifying moment… looking back on my videos from the PA Butler Trump rally on 7/13/24,” and, “We were there just trying to sell our patriotic hats from my small business.”

Crooks then proceeded to the AGR building adjacent to the hotel and shot eight rounds, where one shot grazed Trump’s right ear. Corey Comperatore, one of the attendees, was killed on the spot, and two more were injured critically by the bullets.

What more have the officials stated?

According to the Secret Service statement in response to the newly released footage, “The U.S. Secret Service is aware of and reviewing a variety of footage from July 13 as part of our mission assurance review,” as Fox News reported.

“The U.S. Secret Service is committed to examining the processes, procedures, and factors that led to this operational failure, so that we can ensure it never happens again,” it added.

An initial report by Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La. , as it was reported last week, all eight shell casings were recovered and are in proper FBI hands.

Higgins also mentioned that Crooks was perfectly hidden from the northern counter-sniper team when he was positioned on the roof of the AGR building due to the foliage and branches of two trees that helped him to be concealed.

A single shot was fired from the ground by a Butler SWAT operator approximately 100 yards away from the AGR building.

The shot hit the stock of Crook’s rifle, hit his face and shoulder from the stock breaking up, Higgins said.

It also confirmed the FBI’s action of releasing Crooks’ body to be cremated just ten days after he was killed. Higgins said he came to know this after he attempted to take a look at the body.

As per a statement by an FBI spokesperson, Crook’s body was handed over to his family following the coordination with the coroner’s office as well as state and local law enforcement partners “in keeping with normal procedures.”
