United States: The catastrophe that occurred on New Year’s Day as a man deliberately rammed a truck into a revelry on Bourbon Street in New Orleans remains unexplained Thursday.
To date, the driver’s negligence might not have been determined since at least 14 people died and others were affected.
More about the news
The FBI reported Thursday that the shooter had released videos claiming allegiance to ISIS prior to the rampage.
The driver of the truck, who was captured on video After running down pedestrians and being shot dead by the police within minutes, was identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, aged about 42 years old, from Texas and born in the United States.

He has a military background that includes service in the US military, where he was deployed to Afghanistan for 11 months, the Army spokesperson said.
He was released in 2015 and got involved in real estate in recent years. The last known address where he lived was in Houston, CBS News reported.
The FBI at first stated that 15 individuals, apart from the driver, perished in the aggression.
On Thursday, the New Orleans coroner’s office added that the number concerned the attacker as well.
Investigation is still going on
Police are still looking for the reason behind the attack. On Wednesday and Thursday, officials said they believed Jabbar may have had assistance with the attack, but by Thursday evening, a US official involved in the investigation stated the FBI no longer believed he had help.

The FBI asked anyone with information or video from the scene to come forward with it and turn it over to investigators.
Jabbar had borrowed a Ford electric pickup truck from the Turo renting app meant for sharing automobiles. According to Raia, Jabbar collected the car in Houston on the 30th of December, 2024, and took it to New Orleans on the last day of December.
Raia said the attacker had shot the five videos with the car moving along the two cities. Biden himself mentioned the videos in his television address on Wednesday evening.
