United States: A man wanted to shoot Trump, the Republican candidate for the presidential election, on Sunday at his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, according to the officials.
According to news
The reports said that the suspect’s name is Ryan Wesley Routh, who is 58 years old and from Hawaii, according to unidentified law enforcement.
The Secret Service stated that its agents were with Trump on the golf course and that one of the operatives, who was securing holes for Trump, got a glimpse of a gun barrel in some bushes just within the property line.
Several officers were engaged at the gunman and fired at least four shots at him. The gunman later relinquished what appeared to be an AK-47 style rifle, two bags, a GoPro camera, and other items before escaping in a black Nissan, Reuters reported.

Suspect into custody
The sheriff of Palm Beach County, Ric Bradshaw, revealed that a woman could note the details of the suspect’s vehicle and its license plate and handed it over to investigators.
Then, later sheriff’s deputies in neighboring County stopped the suspect on Interstate 95 and took him into custody.
About the suspect
Reuters came across an X account, Ryan Routh’s Facebook account, and a LinkedIn account. According to reports, the public access to the Facebook and X accounts of Ryan Routh was deactivated shortly after the shooting.
However, the three accounts attributed to Routh show that he was very much on the Ukrainian side in its war against Russia.
According to a Reuters report, Routh posted a message on X while tagging Elon Musk, saying, “I would like to buy a rocket from you. I wish to load it with a warhead for Putins Black sea mansion bunker to end him. Can you give me a price, please?”
The New York Times said in the same story that it had spoken to Routh in 2023 when the newspaper was preparing a story to look into individuals who were giving their time to assist in the Ukraine conflict.
Routh said in an interview with the Times he had visited Ukraine and stayed in the country for several months in 2022, and he was attempting to hire Afghan soldiers who had fled the Taliban to join the war in Ukraine.
Routh said, “A lot of the other conflicts are grey, but this conflict is definitely black and white. This is about good versus evil,” as Reuters reported.
Routh claimed that at one point in 2013, he was going to Ukraine to fight, but he wasn’t accepted since he was too young and had no prior military background.
Moreover, he also posted on X, tagging Biden that “@POTUS Your campaign should be called something like KADAF. Keep America democratic and free. Trump should be MASA …make Americans slaves again, masters. DEMOCRACY is on the ballot, and we cannot lose.”
