United States: President Trump plans to go to Madison Square Garden in New York to hold a campaign rally near Coachella, California, on Saturday, as a candidate targeting two blue states in the last stage of the presidential election.

More about the news

Details of the rally at an iconic Manhattan venue, which hosts both the NBA’s New York Knicks and the NHL’s New York Rangers, were confirmed by two officials from the Trump campaign.

The Trump campaign is mapping its visits mostly in the seven swing states that will determine the fate of the country, but the visits to states that a Republican candidate has not won in the recent past, especially given the current time constraints of the campaign and the very close race, politico.com reported.

An official maintained that large venues are selected based on the growth in the size of the crowd.

Still, Trump has gone on to host messaging events in other less-occupied spaces; the campaign says it has noted growing interest in public spaces. The restricted fixed cost for Madison Square Garden is more than 19,500.

The rally held in the New York Madison Square Garden was first reported by the New York Post.

However, the Coachella stop in Vice President Kamala Harris‘ home state is also an appeal to Latino voters, and the Trump campaign has used stops in New Jersey and New York as the former to make down ballot races more competitive and thus chip away at Democrat support in the area.

According to the campaign, while announcing the Coachella event, “Under Kamala Harris and her dangerous Democrat allies like Tim Walz, the notorious ‘California Dream’ has turned into a nightmare for everyday Americans,” politico.com reported.

“Californians are suffocating under rising prices for everything from groceries to housing, thanks to Kamalanomics,” it added.

After forging his third campaign for the presidency, Trump has considered the possibility of a rally at the Garden.

Moreover, in April, when Trump’s Manhattan trial was going on, Trump cited his plan to hold a “big rally honoring the police and honoring the firemen and everybody, honoring a lot of people, including teachers.”
