United States: As per the polls, inflation and the economy are among the top issues in this year’s presidential race.
However, at a Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump’s rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, which took place last week, not much applause or energy was garnered when he stated, We will end inflation and make America affordable again. We’re going to get the prices down.”
However, as MSNBC News reported, his audience explodes with energy when Trump states comments on immigrants such as “On day one of my new administration, the invasion ends and the deportations begin. We get them out.”
Furthermore, when speaking of VP and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, “Do you trust her to stop the invasion?”, the crowd in response loudly chanted, “We need Trump! We need Trump!”
Trump keeps rallygoers excited
Therefore, at any rate, no matter what the polls tell Trump about which subject matters most to his voters, he just observed that his fans love it when he speaks about white supremacy.
In another rally in Pennsylvania two weeks ago, Trump claimed that black migrants were damaging the character of Springfield, Ohio, where he also declared, “You have to get them the hell out. You have to get them out!” In response, the crowd delivered a bone-chilling chant: “Send them back! Send them back!”
In a different event over the weekend, Trump told voters of Wisconsin that he “will liberate Wisconsin and our entire nation from this mass migration invasion of murderers, child predators, drug dealers, gang members, and thugs.”
Although factual, data do not support Trump’s narrative of a migrant crime rampage. However, the facts don’t concern Trump in any way.
It matters to him that we are scared, a mostly White audience, and then must convince that same audience that he is their protector, MSNBC News reported.
Moreover, we know what Trump means when he says ‘immigrants’ because he has branded Latin American migrants as invaders and criminals in the past, and when he was president, he disparaged African nations, including the Black population of Haiti, as ‘shithole’ countries.
They understand that when Trump speaks of “mass deportation” – one of this year’s Republican Convention slogans – he refers to Black and brown people.
However, for too long, there has been a tendency to justify Trump’s affluent base — like Elon Musk at Saturday’s rally – as riding the Trump bandwagon purely for the returns such as tax cuts, which Trump specifically vowed to them at the fundraising events.
But these are wealthy and, frequently, well-educated people who come across the same headlines as we do.
They ought to know that the very most pronounced facet of Trump’s campaign is racism, and it’s high time they were named as racists for supporting Trump.
