United States: Under President Donald Trump’s direction, the Pentagon will begin deploying 1,500 active military personnel this week to safeguard the American southern border.

On Wednesday, Robert Salesses needed troops ready, but exactly what units would serve remained unclear.

No one knows yet if military troops will perform border security tasks that differ from their current services. Senior management supported this initiative anonymously because it has not commenced operation yet.

All active duty service members will combine with the present 2,500 National Guard and Reserve forces serving there. Our military’s active units remain deployed at bases that are not on the border.

The military forces will assist border patrol agents by arranging supply movements and transporting resources as they build physical obstacles.

In previous times, both Trump and Biden sent active duty forces to patrol the Mexican border, AP News reported.

Under current laws, our military must refrain from executing law enforcement responsibilities, although future regulations could alter that requirement.

Trump’s immediate directions

When Trump directs his new defense and homeland security secretaries back through an executive order, they must give their recommendation on invoking an 1807 law, the Insurrection Act’s powers, within ninety days.

The government would use these active-duty troops in essential law enforcement operations within the United States.

The Trump administration launched its border wall mission as part of the president’s detailed military deployment plan days after taking office.

Trump directed the defense secretary to come up with a plan to “seal the borders” and repel “unlawful mass migration” on Monday.

Trump, in his inaugural speech, stated, “I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places in which they came,” AP News reported.
