United States: After the mass shooting at a Georgia school on Wednesday in which four people were killed and several others injured, VP Kamala Harris was quick to condemn gun violence, while many critics claim that she has not said anything about dreadful incidents involving armed Venezuelan migrant gangs taking over apartment buildings.
More about the news
According to Beverly Hills school board candidate and gun shop owner Russell Stuart, “It’s telling that gun violence is only mentioned when it fits a particular narrative,” as Fox News reported.
“VP Harris is quick to politicize the actions of a mentally ill 14-year-old boy, but remains silent on the very real and dangerous violence being carried out by illegal immigrant gangs in American cities,” said Stuart.

“Law abiding citizens deserve safety and security, and their protection should not be sidelined by political gamemanship and deflection,” he continued.
Although Harris expressed her sorrow about the incident on X, and said that she and her husband were “mourning the deaths of those whose lives were cut short by gun violence at Apalachee High School in Georgia.”
She expressed, “This is a senseless tragedy — and it does not have to be this way. We must end the epidemic of gun violence in our country once and for all.”
Usual discourse of reactions on social media
When the school shooting took place in the battleground of Georgia, the Second Amendment returned back to the center stage of the closely-contested presidential election campaign and has joined the list of the various positions Harris and the former President of the United States Donald Trump had on policy matters.
The usual discourse began on social media after the latest school shooting asserting demands for more stringent gun control measures while making way for the pro-gun control activists to lay blame on mental health issues among the adolescents.
According to retired Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and congressional candidate John Fabbricatore, “We need to get to the cause of what’s happening with these school shootings.”
He added, “It’s not the guns causing the school shootings. Why are these kids thinking that they can go out and kill other human beings?”
He said Harris will not mention the apartment takeovers by the Venezuelan migrant gang because “she helped cause this” by being in office for the last four years; she will not want to discuss what the critics have dubbed as the diminished border security measures.
